What is FCDB ?

The Force Constants of molecules represent important physical constants. They are essential in the analyses of vibrational spectra. It is therefore significant to compile, arrange, and store the force constants of as many molecules as possible, so that they can be readily utilized in the studies of molecular spectroscopy and molecular mechanics. However, various models have been proposed for the molecular force field, and it seems difficult at the present stage to adopt single model.

In this Project, collection of literature dealing force constants is intended instead of constructing a database of force constants themselves. The database, which is being constructed this Project, contains the titles, authors, and abstracts of the collected papers, together with the journal name, volume, pages, and the year of publication of each paper.

FCDB(Force Constant DataBase) is contains 2,394 literature references about force constant published in the period from 1982 to 1999.

This project is based on DataBase fee of Research center for Computational Science, Okazaki National Research Institutes.
